As protection from evil, except that it encompasses a much
larger area and its duration is longer.
Unlike protection from evil, this spell has a special function
that the character may choose when casting the spell. A magic
circle can be focused inward rather than outward. In this case,
it serves as an immobile, temporary magical prison for a summoned
creature. The creature cannot cross the circles boundaries.
The character must beat a creatures SR in order to keep
it at bay (as in the third function of protection from evil), but
the deflection and resistance bonuses and the protection from
mental control apply regardless of enemies SR.
If a creature too large to fit into the spells area is
the subject of the spell, the spell acts as a normal protection
from evil spell for that creature only.
This spell is not cumulative with protection from evil and
vice versa.
